If you do not own a Musicfan.fm account yet, go to the sign-up page: http://www.musicfan.fm/musiclover/myprofile/signup. After you have filled in your data, you can start right away. It is fun to directly invite some of your friends to share your musicprofile with, while signing up. After you have signed up you can start uploading pictures, give reviews, send private messages, add favourite songs and bands and much more!

If you do not want to be signed in automatically, make sure that ‘remember’ is not marked. This mark is on the above right corner over the website, next to the login button. The fact that your are signed in automatically at Musicfan.fm, might also have to do with the cookies on your computer. To remove this cookies, you should:

• Go to Extra – Internet options, in you Internet Explorer.
• Click on the button ‘remove cookies’ followed by ‘ok’
• Your cookies have now been removed
• Close your Internet Explorer and then start it again. Go to Musicfan.fm. You are no longer being signed in automatically.

To change your Musicfan.fm profile, you should:

• Log in at you Musicfan.fm account (fill in your username and password at the above right of the website)
• You are now automatically at your controlpanel, it not use the button ‘control my profile’
• Pick the things you would like to change; friends, reviews, pictures, interviews...
• Change the things you want and do not forget to save the changes.

That is good news! You can easily view which of your contacts already has a Musicfan.fm profile and which you can invite. It your friends are not members yet, you can invite them like this:

• Go to ‘Invite friends’ in the mainmenu of your controlpanel
• Select the addresses from your address book or add the email addresses of your frieds one by one, using a comma inbetween addresses.
• Click on ‘Send’

That is not a problem! I you receive an invitation you wish not to accept, just click on the link in your email, sign in at Musicfan.fm and choose the option ‘Refuse’ This person will not receive a notification of this.

The ranking of friends in your overview are based on the last time someone signed in. So usually an active user will be higher in you list.

If you block someone, he or she can no longer place reactions on your profile. This person will not receive any notification of your block. You can only block people that already have placed a reaction on your profile!

Yes, you can. In your controlpanel using the ‘Musical friends’ button, you can simply remove a person by clicking on the cross on the right top of his/her profile picture.

We will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent. We will use your information in consensus with our Privacy Statement.

Some providers suffer from delays once in a while. In that case, be patient and check your unwanted mail file. Did you really not recieve your confirmation mail, contact the helpdesk.

Yes, at Musicfan.fm your are always surfing anonymously. Other users can not see if you visited his/her profile.

Visit your controlpanel and choose “My details”. On the bottom of this page you can delete your account!

Musicfan.fm uses the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Safari. It is possible that other browsers will suffice, but these are not elaborately tested by Musicfan.fm.

No, it is not obliged to registrate to buy music. It is indeed possible to fill in your email address, so we can sent you a confirmation mail.

The music you download is nearly comparable with the quality of an audio cd. We offer music files in Mp3 size with a minimal bitrate of 192 Kbps, 44.1 KHz. When we offer WMA files, the quality will be at least cd quality. Musicfan.fm offers both music sizes and communicates this clearly per song/album you wish to purchase.

The toplists are dependant of the number of times a song is heard.

Depending of the licence rights we own to a song, you can listen to a 30 to 60 second sample and in some cases to the whole song in advance. To listen click on the play button of the song.

If you would like to purchase a song/album, click of the shopping cart that belongs to the song/album. Doing this, you will add the song/album to your shopping cart. The shopping cart will appear at the top of your screen after you have added a song/album.

After you have placed your order, you arrive at the payment page. At this page you can choose a payment method from different options. Pay attention! Your order is accepted after your we have received your payment. Musicfan.fm uses SSL technology to protect personal information while sending your data via the Internet. You can pay by phone (0900), Ideal, VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Paypal.

You have to pay transaction costs, because using a payment method unfortunately costs money. The costs vary per payment method and are specified before you place an order.

After we have received your payment you can download your Mp3 files directly and you will receive a link to download your WMD files. Before you can download the files the individual settings of Windows Media Player 10.0 must be installed. If you do not have XP, make sure Windows Media Player 9.0 is installed on your PC. The Mp3 files you can play at any preferred appliance- as often as you want. You can play them from your computer, copy them to a cd or listen to them on your Mp3 player. Since the WMA files (songs) are secured with DRM, it is not possible to copy or burn the songs over and over again. You have the right to download the song once, burn it three times and transfer it to a mediaplayer five times.

• A clear statement including the fact you found something at musicfan.fm which violates your intellectual rights;
• The country your copyright is valid;
• The way the content violates your copyright (the sound was copied, the complete vidio is a copy of your work, the biography contains a piece of text you wrote etc..)
• The type of work (a film, musical piece, a book etc...)on which you have a copyright. If this information is available via the Internet, a link would definitely help us.
• Your contact information (email is preferred). Musicfan.fm can pass this address to the person who put the content online at Musicfan.fm.
• The following statement: I am convinced that the owner of this copyright (or a third party that can legally make statements in name of the owner) did not give permission to use the work.
