Biography of Ysis
Ysis is an all-girl band with a difference. Two girls singing close harmony and playing acoustic guitar. Nothing too strange about that you might think. And you'd be right. But the third member plays cello! And what a combination they make. Their music style has been compared with the likes of Heather Nova, the Cranberries and Ks Choice. That can't be bad, considering that these ladies are no older than 21. But they are rapidly on their way to defining their own style and they have the trophies to prove it. In 2003 they won a major national talent contest the Stimorol Stagemasters prize for up and coming young pop bands. From that time they started to play every week and the venues turned bigger. The name Ysis became famous.
Last year they've played support Intwine and Racoon. They also played various big open air pop festivals and played on radiostation 3fm.
Recently they completed a promotion CD that shows what they are capable of. In January 2006 Ysis released their first official single "Rose". They play very often, so check them out at: www.ysismusic.com!
