Biografie van Ruud de Vries

Ruud de Vries is een Nederlandse jazzsaxofonist die improviseert binnen uiteenlopende muziekstijlen en bekend staat om zijn veelzijdigheid en een stevig tenorsaxofoongeluid.

Ruud de Vries is zeer actief in het live-circuit en gaat graag zijn eigen weg. Hij treedt vooral op met zijn jazzgeorienteerde formaties zoals UNGAWA (Afrojazz) en SCOOPS(traditional jazz).

Naast optredens met zijn bands treedt Ruud onder de noemer PARTYSAX veel op in combinatie met DJ's en het EXTRA LOUNGE CONCEPT.

Ruud de Vries bracht inmiddels 5 CDs die op deze site te downloaden zijn. In december 2009 werd Ruuds meest recente CD GRAVY gereleased.

Zoals al zijn CD's is ook de CD GRAVY een zeer afwisselende CD met verrassende nummers en 4 eigen composities. De CD kreeg een lovende recensie van het toonaangevende Jazzmagazine JAZZISM.

Ruud de Vries is a saxophonist from Holland who improvises within various musical styles and always pursuits a powerful tenor sax sound. Ruud de Vries is very active in the live-circuit and prefers to do in his own way.

Ruud de Vries mainly performs with his - always jazzrelated - formations like UNGAWA (Afrojazz) and SCOOPS(traditional jazz).

Besides the performances with his bands Ruud plays often with DJ using the alias artist name PARTYSAX. Furthermore he plays with the unique EXTRA LOUNGE CONCEPT.

Ruud de Vries released 5 CDs so far, starting in 1998. All these CDs can be downloaded here. In december 2009 his last CD GRAVY has been released. This CD is a very versatile CD. The leading Dutch jazzmagazine JAZZISM wrote a very good review about this CD.
