Biografie van John C Fraser
John C Fraser is the aka of dutch singer/songwriter Frank van den Ende (1985). John brings intense songs inspired by musicians like Tori Amos, Peter Gabriel, Damien Rice and John Mayer.
After having played in several bands Frank decided that it was time for a change. He wanted to give his real passion a try: songwriting in it's most broad sense of the word. No more compromises, no boundries and no concepts. Frank picked up his guitar and started writing.
In november 2008 Frank released his first solo home recordings as a free download on his website, under the name of John C Fraser. The album was downloaded over a two thousand times in only two months time. Overwelmed by the positive reactions Frank knew he was on the right way and decided that from now on he was John C Fraser.
John gave some old friends a call and formed a band around him. With Daan van den Hurk on keys, Jos Otters on bass and Frank van der Star on drums, John C Fraser now had a band which was steady as a rock and tight as a tick. Together with them John toured through the entire country and he built a steady fan base.
In the meantime John decided he wanted to take his career to a higher level. He met up with producer George Konings of the Sound Vision Studio and plugger Saskia Konings. Together with them, John set out a path to promote the first studio single ever recorded by John: "The Odd One Out".
After it's official release in september 2009 diverse radiostations began to play the song. John was invited to perform on 3fm's Bring it On!, Nachtegiel, Ekdom in de Nacht, Der Rudy, radio 2's Tros Muziekcafé and radio 1's Opium and several other shows.
In october 2009 John debut album "Head to My Heart - 12 Uncut Recordings" was released. A collection of songs recorded in the tradition of Neil Young and Ryan Adams in an empty Paard Café.
The recordings captured the intensity of the songs and showed what a steady live performance John C Fraser and his band had created over the last couple of months.
With all the successes John decided to join the website Sellaband.com. A platform which gives fans the opportunity to invest in the artist they like by pre ordering their new album. John joined with the goal to record his first ever studio album, in line with the single he recorded.
In the meantime a second single was released, also recorded in the Sound Vision Studio in Arnhem. The song was calles "She's Doin' It Again". Surprisingly it opened even more doors for John and his band and more and more people got to know about John C Fraser and his music.
In march 2010 John reached his Sellaband goal and immediately started to record his studio album. Only half a year after the release of "Head to My Heart" John was ready to show the world more of his songs.
The album (released on june 2nd 2010) shows all the aspects of John C Fraser. Intense, upbeat and rock songs. They're all combined on the album "The Odd One Out". Together with his album John released his single "Heartstopper" and a Limited Edition of his album which features a recording of a live show organised for all John's Sellaband investors.
In october 2010 John will start touring across Europe to promote the album.
