Biografie van Hallo Venray

Hallo Venray is a band from The Hague, the Netherlands. Since 1987, singer Henk Koorn, guitarist Toon Moerland, bassist Peter Konings and new drummer Henk Jonkers (ex-Fatal Flowers) frequently play the dutch clubcircuit. Somehow you can consider them veterans in the dutch scene, as they have played everywhere by now, including the big festivals like Pinkpop. And also their albums all proved best sellers, with over 10.000 copies sold each.

Their guitar rock is inspired by the likes of the Velvet Underground and Neil Young.

In 1996 they did a small tour in the Netherlands playing only Neil Young songs. This was part of the so called Marlboro Flashback Tour, for which bands are invited to play a set of songs by their favorites.

Cause they had so much fun playing all those Neil Young classics, since then every year they go back on a short tour with that set. On one of those occasions their contribution to the Neil Young tribute album This Notes For You Too! was taped. Their version of Cortez The Killer is one of the highlights of that album.

On November 21st 1999 we have recorded a whole live set by the band, with the album Roll Another Number as a result.
