Biografie van CaDra
CaDra is a studio project around producer rakenDra Smit and multi-instrumentalist/singer
Caroline Beukenkamp. In their sound studio in Amstelveen, in the Netherlands, they play and experiment with sounds, vocals, instruments, song structures and words from all over the world.
rakenDra Smit (1960) was born in the Netherlands and grew up there.
As a bass-, guitar and keyboard player and as a singer he played in lots of bands and different music styles. Since 1990 he has been working as a composer, arranger, producer and promotor in a wide range of music disciplines.
At the moment he is co-producer, arranger and bassplayer in the retro-popband Radjinder.
Caroline Beukenkamp (1966) was born in the Netherlands and grew up in the south of Germany.
Already from childhood on she sang and played the silver flute, piano and guitar.
At the age of 15 she returned to Holland to study, work and to get hooked on another great passion: photography. In 2000 she met rakenDra and picked up her old love for music again.
CaDra's debut, 'Blissful Chess' has been described as a mixture of ' The Cocteau Twin's', 'Pink Floyd' and 'the Mamma's and the Papa's, playing universal mantra's and psychedelic hippie-songs.
Several test persons reported that they enjoyed doing their Yoga, Tai-Chi or other Sadhana's more while playing the second CD with the chill remixes.
Whatever it is, their mystical pop music seduces the listener to open up. The music, though, is only an excuse to guide the listener towards the end o
